What is the RIAA all about?

What is the truth about the RIAA?

IMHO (In My Humble Opinion) the RIAA> is an organization which appears to engage in racketeering, extortion, and intimidation tactics as well as spreading propoganda to convince people that the Fair Use clause of Copyright Law and the Home Recording Act do not exist and allow users to exercise their rights. The RIAA and MPAA also want you to believe that the DMCA does not provide the interoperability exclusion clause, which if you follow to the letter, does in fact allow you to use libdvdcss/decss to bypass technical measures to rip and back up music video and/or movie DVDs, as it allows for interoperability with backup and transcoding/ripping software.

Richard Wright - RIP

Three days is what it took for me to figure out what I wanted to do on this web site after hearing of Richard Wright's death. When posting on myspace that night I couldn't figure out what do do. Finally I decided to do something simplistic and put up the image of the 20th anniversary DSotM album cover as the index page:

At last, Biyn Launches the Spartan Laptop Outlet Web Site

Spartan Laptop Outlet

Spartan is the second largest "whitebook" laptop manufacturer in America and we just launched the Spartan Laptop Outlet web site.

Site is back up, hair is more wild

OK I'm back - my site is back up. I haven't updated it yet but I will be upgrading it soon.

My hair? It's more wild. I was kidding around with one of my partners, telling him I'm going purple next.

Did I say pink?

Did I say pink? Now that I've washed it twice, it's really really really pink. I guess more pigment came out, leaving more dye along with the natural reflection of my hair. It's like, well, to look at my hair you need sunglasses. I did it for a lark for halloween but I think I might keep it. I was going to see if the hairdresser can lift the color out this weekend but if I make it to the salon I'm going to see if she can just even the color out a little. :)

PINK!

Oh my. PINK HAIR!!

Yes, for Halloween I decided to take a plunge and play with Manic Panic. It was either purple or pink, so I took an informal poll. Majority ruled pink, and I didn't want the ugly blue-grey color purple fades to if one doesn't keep up with it, so that was the clincher. So, I went hot pink.

Got the Xerox 6180DN a week ago Wednesday

My printer came in and it's been running happily, but I have had NO time to post a review. Between sukkot, working on web sites for the congregation I got involved in, cooking for the congregation, and work, I've been uber-busy.

soy is my red kryptonite :-(

Red Kryptonite

I swear, soy to me is like red kryptonite is to Superman. Wednesday night I ate a pasta dish and a salad that had soybean oil. Thursday I woke up REALLY late, groggy, and I was drowsy all day. Slight headache, but not a migraine. No hives. My stomach upset but I was really, really hungry. I could hardly keep my eyes open and driving was a pain. Eyes were slightly yellowish, but that's normal lately.

A killer deal on a duplexed color laser printer

This weekend I was getting pissed off at the laser printer in Dan's office. It's an ancient Laserjet 4 - totally serviceable but for some reason the thing keeps jamming. We use 24lb paper rather than 20lb to minimize jamming (it cured it in the inkjet printers) but the Laserjet keeps jamming anyhow. Every time I have to fix the jam I have to disrupt Dan, move his phone out of the way, etc. and every time I need to print I have to interrupt him.

procrastinated. . .

Great people

Met some really amazing people last night and today and made some new friends. I put off finding a new church WAY too long, putting the business first. It was amazing - simply amazing. Not superficial at all and I didn't see any pagan or cultic elements. Awesome. It's what I've been looking for for years, since I discovered Sid Roth's web site (Messianic Vision).
